Prime Bank Limited opened its 126th branch at Daulatpur, Khulna on 27th November. Chairman of the Bank Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah inaugurated the branch as the Chief Guest. General Manager of Bangladesh Bank’s Khulna office Shyamal Kumar Das was present at the program as the Special Guest. Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru presided over the program while Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury delivered the welcome address. Head of Daulatpur branch Md. Abdur Raafi was also present at the occasion.

In the speech of the Chief Guest, Chairman of the Bank Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah said that Prime Bank has been delivering Islamic banking services along with Conventional banking from the beginning of its operations. He informed that Prime Bank has been contributing in the social development by establishing Prime Bank Foundation. The Foundation has been playing important role in education by providing stipends to the poor but meritorious students every year, in health by setting up eye hospital and in sports by establishing Prime Bank Cricket Club through which it is training up the upcoming & talented cricketers of the country at the International Standards to enhance their skills.

Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru said that the use of technology is gradually increasing in the banks. Hence, Prime Bank is enhancing the use of technology based banking services with the demand of time; keeping the new generation in mind the Bank has started technology based services like Mobile Banking and Internet Banking. Besides, the Bank has added “Prime Cash” which is operated by finger prints and voice recognition, for the unbanked people of the country. He added that Prime Bank would launch automated deposit machines along with the ATM booths in near future.

Greeting the guests of the program, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury said Prime Bank believes that the country will become truly progressive when the people of the grass root level will be self dependent; and this is possible by promoting small and medium enterprises. Hence, Prime Bank is currently putting emphasis on SME sector. Moreover, the Bank is also providing various types of agricultural loans.
