An Award Giving Ceremony of Prime Bank Foundation was organized on 15 September at the LGED Auditorium, Dhaka to handover the stipends of its ‘Education Support Program’. Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud, eminent economist of the country was present as the chief guest while Shitangshu Kumar Sur Chowdhury, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, renowned educationalist were also present at the program as the special guests. Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah, Chairman of Prime Bank presided over the stipends awarding ceremony. Md. Nader Khan, Chairman of Prime Bank Foundation delivered the welcome address and Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank gave the vote of thanks. Dr. Iqbal Anwar, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank Foundation explained the stipend distribution process and overall activities of the Foundation.

This year a total of 386 students of the country received long term and renewable stipends @ Tk. 2,200/- per month which will continue till the end of their studies. Receiving this stipend the poor but meritorious students got the assurance of finishing their higher studies successfully.

Noteworthy that under the ‘Education Support Program’ the Foundation awarded a total of 1,277 students including 170 students in 2007, 122 in 2008, 198 in 2009, 196 in 2010, 205 in 2011 and 386 students this year.

Apart from the commercial banking operation, Prime Bank Limited through its Foundation is simultaneously playing a pivotal role in the society as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities. Prime Bank Foundation is providing long-term financial support to the underprivileged but meritorious students from different educational institutions (college & university levels) of the country through ‘Education Support Programme’ which started in 2007. The most important factor of the stipend distribution program is its impartial selection process. The advisors of the selection committee comprises of three of the country’s acknowledged educationalists whose discreet advices have been making it possible to select the best students for stipends with highest neutrality.
